Pay to Participate Athletics
and Co-Curricular

Beginning with the 2011-2012 school year, in order to support the large variety of co-curricular programs offered to our students, the Plumsted Township Board of Education instituted participation fees in the amount of $50.00 for all athletic teams, school drama productions, cheerleading and the marching bands. The fee for all clubs at the high school level is $25 per club (with a maximum of $50 per student). Students who qualify for free and reduced lunch are eligible for discounted rates. Once a student has paid for two activities ($100 maximum for athletics, $50 maximum for clubs) all remaining activities that a student chooses to join will not require a fee.  More information...

Board of Education and Municipality Enter a Shared-Services Agreement

Mayor Ron Dancer and Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Mark DeMareo, are pleased to announce that the school district and the municipality have entered into a shared-services agreement. This agreement will provide busing to approximately 400 additional students district-wide.

Prior to this shared-service agreement, elementary and middle school students who lived less than 2 miles and high school students who live less than 2.5 miles from their respective school needed to provide their own transportation to school. This one year agreement will now provide busing to those students even though the state does not require the district to offer transportation.

Under the terms of the shared-services agreement, the Township and School Board will each pay 50 % of the total cost to bus the additional students. The total cost to provide all students with school bus transportation is $150,000. The Township and School Board will each pay $75,000.

Due to the new shared-services agreement crossing guards will be provided during the first week of school only.
